The Roy H. Mann Band

Roy H. Mann bands acquired thirteen official New York State School Music Association awards as well as awards and trophies at High Notes NYS festivals, Heritage Performance PA festivals and Performing Arts Consultants festivals. The official awards include Gold Ratings awarded to the Jazz Ensemble and to the Select Concert Band. Additionally, the Roy H. Mann Honor bands was selected to perform at Disney Magic Music Days in Orlando, FL and were featured at a Universal Studios music showcase.
 The Roy H. Mann music department received an invitation to perform at the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony in Washington, D.C. The Roy H. Mann music department is also proud to be the first NYC public school to participate in the  "International Children’s Festival” at Symphony Space on Broadway.

The Roy H. Mann major music program offers systematic study of fundamentals and extensive performance experience in sequential three year program from a beginning to expert level. Success in music performance doesn’t only indicate your child’s music talent. It also shows a willingness to spend a significant amount of time, energy and effort over a long period of time to reach a high level of performance. Success in musical performance is an indicator of good work habits, persistence and tenaciousness. Our standards are understood and recognized by High School, college and university admissions officers. 
The program is comprised of five different concert bands:
 - The Mustang Band - beginning level, no experience required
 - Junior Concert Band – intermediate  level, 1+ year experience
 - Senior Concert Band – advanced level, 2+ year experience
 - Select Concert Band – audition/invitation only
 - Jazz Ensemble– audition/invitation only 
​Students perform in two culminating concerts per year. Additionally they perform at numerous events throughout the city.
